Wow! That was an awesome trip out east during the first two weeks of September. We went to a craft fair, did lots of driving in good weather, took ferry rides, did some Fundy camping (we met a friendly Fundy camp staffer); there was lots of bird watching, Sanderlings, Great Black Backed Gulls, Cormorants, (what else Greg?); my favourite Beach was at Mavillette Nova Scotia, followed closely by River John Nova Scotia. I ate scallops in Digby, descended into an old fishing boat cum museum in Digby (inhabited by a multi-toed stray cat and a video about how scallops actually are gathered and shucked), descended into a very old powder storage building at Fort Anne National Historic Site. We stayed in regular motels, and a super nice BandB in Lunenburg. I enjoyed the Lord Beaverbrook Art collection in Fredericton - highly recommended! Some real treasures, including an ancient French tapestry with a dog taking a poop.
The best single spot? Kejimikujik National Park's Seaside Adjunct. With it's 8km trail winding through bog (venus flytraps) and along a wind whipped coast, we were guided to the most lovely white sand beach (shown here) and we saw gigantic seals lounging on rocks off the shore. New Brunswick and Nova Scotia were super places to visit.
On the way back, we took a detour by Ferry to Tadoussac in Quebec. There I added beluga whales and some unspecified black skinned whales to my wild life sightings.
