This blog is driven, sadly, by one solitary, lone individual, who has many interests outside of blogging. The upshot of it all is a stalled blog. But, what to do?
I am starting my own blog redesign team. This is the plan:
- Prepare a scoping document: The purpose of this redesign is to revitalize Sonja's Highrise Blog. The project will figure out: What is the purpose of this blog? Who is the audience? Who is the intended audience? Who even, is the potential audience? What change should Sonja's Highrise Blog bring about in the world, and in this intended audience? How, and how will performance be measured?
- Answer the question: What will make people satisfied with the blog?
- Answer the question: What will make the editor satisfied with her blog?
- Brainstorm themese for the blog
- Solicit key informant input and expert guidance. Contact favourite bloggers.
- Choose a new name and colour scheme.
- Implement plan and launch the new blog.
Next. Scoping document. Due date: Friday February 22
Meanwhile, if you have any suggestions on what you would like to read about, let me know! There will be a prize for the best suggestion. A lottery ticket of my choice.

Hi Sonja,
If you're going to do restaurant or movie reviews they would have more power if you did them on a site that already collects reviews.
I'd rather read about your adventures.
Personally, I like the random nature of a blog... Just start with whatever random reflection thought enters your mind, then do some research on the topic, and spurt it out! All this in your spare time....:) Kate
I voted for mis-adventures only because it was the closest thing to "variety" in your poll.
Stories from A to Z. Tell me about the biggest A or the most colourful Z you have seen....Ohh, and pictures, it must have pictures.
Thanks David and others for your thoughts. I like random events too, and noticing the odd bits that happen. The voters so far are favouring mis-adventures at work... I think a theme of odd bits of life in Ottawa, whether on the fringes of working life, street scapes, or animal infiltration (ie hawks) with pictures might be fun. Hmmm....
