Happy New Year!
I wish you the best in domestic living, art, creativity, and even a little bird-watching, all year long!
My Resolution is to have more dinners at my place. Gone are the days of excuses and dependence on other people's hospitality. No more blaming it on the small bachelor size quarters, no dining table, too messy, no idea what to make. I have all I need to be a good hostess. I even have encouragement from Greg, who (by the way) claims that his place is too dusty, not enough places to sit, in the middle of renovations.
2006 was a great year in many regards for me with many fine moments, not the least of which was a number of lovely dinners at my place complete with friends, food, wine, even tableware. There was even a party in August. What a great year.
Stay tuned.
I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce my new sofa. As you can see, it is cozy, large, welcoming, and solid. It has little in the way of definite personality yet - hence no gender assignment. Guess where I spend many a pleasant evening...with a warm blanket, cup of tea, Sudoku puzzle, TV remote control. You can see a selection of magazines and even a sketchbook are easily at hand as well. I vaguely envision sewing custom cushions with lovely fabric that will tie in with the decor (ahem!). A trip to Rockland textiles may be forth-coming if that creative plan takes further shape, ie if I can get off my butt long enough.
Old teak Betty was picked up by her new owner in November, and is we suppose getting familiar with her new stylin' friends, possibly Eames chairs and red shag rugs. Best wishes Betty.
