Update on highrise life

The halloween committee handed out candies on the 31st.

The garden committee has wrapped up its work for the season. They did a wonderful job and received some congratulations from other residents. I sometimes saw the ladies and men in the morning out in the flower beds trimming and weeding.

The bike locker and its racks are full of ancient abandoned bikes covered in dust. I think their owners have moved away. I'm going to find a way to clean it up. I'll report on progress once I get started on that.

The bridge club had a small turnout last week. I know because I walked by the party room on my way to the condo library, and saw only a few players. But they looked happy enough. The condo library has a great current selection of New Yorker Magazines and McLean's, thanks to residents who share their issues once they're done with them. Great idea. I borrowed the Chatelaine however, to get some fall fashion tips. I'm also a new Sudoku addict, so a trip the garbage/recycle room is always a good way to find a sudoku puzzle in a discarded newspaper, whithout having to buy a whole paper.

My neighbours who place rotating seasonal ornaments on their doors have turned to fall themes - red maple leaves are a principal motif.
