February wildlife sightings

Recently, okay about three weeks ago, my companion and I went out for a beautiful snowshoeing outing north of Wakefield. On the way back, we drove by a farm, where I shot this photo of a big pig. This farm is off the beaten track, which is good because the animals were wandering all over the place, including the road. I was excited to see this pig, and yelled "Stop the car, I need to take a photo of this pig!"

That day, we also saw some grouse, some lovely marks in snow made by a grouse's wings as it took flight, some deer, and various chickadees and chipmunks. We also found several deer beds, where some deer had lain down for a snooze in the snow.
