Spring Slog

Do you think spring is really here? Aside from a couple of lovely weekends, we have no more snow, nor more ice, the water is filling the Rideau canal, barbeques are getting fired up. Green shoots are coming out of the ground, and out from the stems of woody plants. The proof is starting to mount.

A couple of weekends ago we went to Mer Bleue, where the water plants were soaking up the sun and brightening their green leaves that somehow made it through the cold winter. We saw a woodpecker too.

Last weekend up in the Gatineau, many more birds including a female merganser sliding her low body along a calm lake's surface. We heard frogs chirping.
